Do you need hope? Is your life a mess because of decisions you made or decisions others have made? If so, this is a series of events you don’t want to miss. Ken Freeman is a nationally known speaker who brings a powerful message of hope and meaning. From a childhood filled with abuse and neglect Ken was destined to live a damaged life, but with one decision everything changed. Today, Ken’s life work and ministry is set on telling others how one decision can turn their mess into a message.
Ken Freeman will bring a series of inspirational and meaningful messages at FBC Lake on Sunday, Feb. 5th-Wednesday, Feb. 8th. This is an event that will bring meaning and purpose to your life no matter your age or situation.
Where: First Baptist Church of Lake (80 S. Main Street, Lake, MS)
When: Sunday, February 5th at 8:30am and 11am
Monday, February 6th at 7pm
Tuesday, February 7th at 7pm
Wednesday, February 8th at 7pm
Who can come: This event is for anyone (regardless of age) who needs a message of hope.
What to expect: When you come to FBC Lake for the Ken Freeman event you can expect to be welcomed as you are. The service will begin with a time of encouraging and uplifting music lead by Jonathan Henderson and then Ken Freeman will bring the message of hope.
What to wear: Wear what you are comfortable wearing. If you like to wear a dress or Sunday best, wear it. If you like to wear jeans and a t-shirt, wear it. The important thing is not what you wear, but where you are when Ken brings a message of hope. Ken Freeman and most people will wear comfortable daily clothes.
How long will the service last: The services will last between an hour and an hour and a half.
Will you have a nursery? FBC Lake will provide a safe and secure nursery for birth through 3years old during each service. If you have never attended a service at FBC Lake, plan to arrive early so you can check your child in and have time to find a seat. Simply enter the church through the Large White Columns and a greeter will escort you and your child to the nursery.
What does it cost? The event is completely free. At the end of each service a love offering will be collected to support Ken Freeman, but you are not expected to give unless you choose too.
Testimony from our Senior Pastor:
In 2004 I was a freshman in college and living in Knoxville, TN. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my life was a mess. The decisions I was making and the lack of direction in my life caused continuous conflict between me and my family, friends, and co-workers. Nothing seemed to be going right.
On October 12th, when I got off work I planned to spend time with friends, but that evening I was unable to track down any of my friends. No one seemed available. With nothing to do, my mom invited me to attend an event at a local church where a guy named Ken Freeman was speaking. Although I was much more interested in going out with friends I decided it was better to go to the church event than sit at home alone. Little did I know that night my life would change forever.
The event that night was much like the event you will experience at FBC Lake on Feb. 5-8. There was “something” in the air that night. An excitement, an energy. I was nervous to be in a church I never went to before and I was somewhat concerned about what people would think about me, but I started to feel like I needed to be there.
That night I heard words that I had heard before. “Make decisions.” “Know who you are.” “There is hope.” But this time I experienced a strong pulling on my heart. At the end of the message Ken presented a question: “Do you need your mess turned into a message?” I knew at that moment he was talking to me. I decided on October 12, 2004 to respond to the question and made the decision to give my mess to Jesus Christ. Everything changed, from that moment on.
If you are reading this, I believe you are at the point of having everything in your life changed. If I could go back and give my 18 year old self one message, it would be: “Don’t miss the Ken Freeman Event. It will change your life in a way you never dreamed!” I invite you to join me for this life-changing event.

With the ability to connect to people of any age group, culture, or background, evangelist Ken Freeman lives with a passion to bring people to know Christ and to make a deeper, more intimate, commitment to Him.
Ken has been blessed with a beautiful wife, Debbie, two beautiful children, and eight beautiful grandchildren. He has a passion for his ministry and he’s had an enormous amount of opportunities to do what he loves most, lead people to Christ. All of this being said, it’s important to note, Ken’s life has not always been this way.
The son of an alcoholic mother and an absentee father, Ken’s life was filled with abuse and neglect. Often times he and his sister would be left for days while his mother satisfied her addiction to alcohol and possible other drugs. Other times she’d leave them with a boyfriend who would physically and sexually abuse them. There were times he thought about suicide. Other times he thought about murder. His life seemed out of control. Ken spent his life running, trying to survive. He was bitter, hurt, and alone.
Despite a horrifying childhood, Ken defied all odds with one choice that would change his life forever, his decision to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. With that one choice Ken’s years of mental and physical abuse turned from a useless mess, to a powerful message.
Jonathan Henderson is the Associate Worship Pastor at Crossgates Baptist Church and is a singer/songwriter. He recently released his first EP, entitled “Come to Me,” featuring familiar and new worship songs, as well as original song “Come to Me.” His passion in ministry is proclaiming the love of Jesus through music as well as teaching the Church about what it really means to worship and live a lifestyle of worship. When not doing things of a musical nature, he enjoys good food, diving into a good book, or obstacle course racing. He lives in Brandon, MS, with his beautiful wife, Anna, and their spoiled rotten cairn terrier, Ruby.
